when people tell me to go outside when im depressed
my bf has many interesting stories and observations from his new job as a 911 operator
my favorite is how meandering people are, even in the midst of a terrible emergency
they respond to “what is the emergency” with “well, the thing is, four weeks ago–”
and then he’s like “WHAT IS THE EMERGENCY RIGHT NOW”
and they’re like “so what happened this morning was, i said to my wife, i said–”
“WHAT IS CURRENTLY HAPPENING AT THIS MOMENT”
“oh i’m having a heart attack”
my second favorite is how specific he has to get sometimes
like, “what is your emergency?”
“i’m sitting in a pool of blood.”
“… is it… your blood?”
“yes i think so”
“do you know where it’s coming from?”
“probably the stab wound”
“have you been stabbed?”
“oh yah definitely”
In all fairness shock is a hell of a drug
Goths get moths in their stomach instead of butterflies
i hope that one day i will finally be ok….i’ll make a cherry pie when it is all over
today is the day
reblog the cherry pie to be ok
Congratulations on being ok. Eat every bite, and be happy.
It’s an extremely popular opinion among middle and upper class white people.
Also, aside from this completely uneducated reasoning as to why minimum wage was created…
I can guarantee that there are tens of thousands of teenagers who have to pay bills and help support their families or are the only financial supporter to their family.
not to mention, if minimum wage was meant solely for high school students how would the business survive when students are in school?? are they only supposed to be open on the weekend? this “unpopular opinion” makes no sense.
Unpopular fact: in the 70s a minimum wage worker could pay for college with a summer job.
Unpopular fact: minimum wage was conceived to be the minimum amount of money a person would need to support themselves and their families when working 40 hours per week.
Unpopular fact: minimum wage was created because working men and women in this nation fought–figuratively in the negotiating room and literally in the streets–for a fair working wage, with sweat and blood and tears and death.
Unpopular fact: military service personnel are not the only people who have fought and died for your rights as American: labor leaders and common workers laid down their lives so that you could have a 40 hour work week instead of 80 hours; so you could have a 2 day weekend instead of none; so you could have lunch and bathroom breaks instead of going hungry and shitting your pants,; so you could have a three day weekend in September.
Capitalism would NEVER dole out basic human decency without literal human sacrifice.
If minimum wage is only supposed to be for high school students, it should be illegal to pay that little to anyone who’s older than 18.
Trump is visiting a class in an elementary school where they are talking about words and meanings
The teacher asks Trump if he would like to lead the class in a discussion of the word “tragedy”.
So he asks the class for an example of a tragedy. One little boy stands up and offers, “if my best friend who lives on a farm is playing in a field and a runaway tractor comes along and knocks him dead, that’d be a tragedy.”
“Not quite”, says Mr. Trump, “that would be an accident.”
A little girl raises her hand: “if a school bus carrying 50 children drove over a cliff, killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy.”
“I’m afraid not,” explained the president. “That’s what we would call a great loss.”
The room goes silent. Trump searches the room. “Isn’t there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy? “
Finally at the back of the room, little Johnny raises his hand. In a quiet voice he says, “If Air Force One, carrying you was struck by a missile and blown to smithereens; that would be a tragedy.”
“Fantastic!” exclaimed Mr. Trump. “That’s right. And can you tell me why that would be a tragedy?”
“Well’, said little Johnny, “because it sure as hell wouldn’t be a great loss and probably wouldn’t be an accident either.”
I didn’t even read the url and I fucking knew it was Jeff
Until suicidal people can be trusted with their own feelings, we’re never going to be able to fully trust the people meant to treat us.
Until we can walk into a place and tell them we need help staying safe and walk back out when we determine we’re okay, we’re not going to feel safe asking for help.
As long as people have the right to take away our rights “for our own good” we will struggle to express those feelings even when we know we need help.
If you want to help suicidal people, trust that they know their feelings better than you do. Trust that they know when they are and are not okay. Create an environment where we can be honest without fear that we’ll be shut in a psych hospital against our wills, which is a thing that makes many of us less okay than more okay. Please, give us more reason to trust that we can be honest when we need help.
Wholesome compares to cops killing innocent people in America.

I want to be like one of those authors from the 1900s who would get high on cocaine then write a book that barely made any fucking sense and just publish the first draft. Why did we stop doing that
